Also it crashed like 10 times while trying to combine all the surfaces and edges at the end. This was particularly difficult because it was my first model using a new feature and it took me a while to get to grips with it. My first model is a torus shape but made as a mesh of hexagons rather than a solid part.
I’ll be including it at the bottom of this post to show how I’ve developed my CAD skills over the course of this project. The main aim of this brief is to explore and so I’ll be delving into features of the program that I’ve never used before, trying to develop my knowledge and abilities and I also want to see what kind of crazy forms and models I can produce.įinally once I feel confident with all the new features, I want to try and model the Space X Dragon Capsule, it has a really difficult form to re-create and that’s exactly why I want to try. This will range from organic surfaces to complex multi face bodies. To quantify this I’ll be modeling the Space X Dragon Capsule and displaying my several attempts.ģ. To test how complex a model I can produce. To expand my knowledge of the software (The use of complex Functions, how to use data tables, how to use motion study)Ģ. My aim for this project is primarily to explore the potential of Solidworks through these goals ġ. For this project I will be exploring and experimenting with the parametric CAD software – Solidworks.
